What CENTER STAGE PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY CORPORATION does
Center Stage Performing Arts Academy Corporation is a privately held, founder-owned performing arts education business headquartered at 39318 Highway 74 in Gonzales, Louisiana. Founded in 2000 by Linda and Larry Schexnaydre, the academy delivers year-round group classes and private lessons across dance (Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop), musical theatre, acting, voice, piano, and guitar to students of all ages and skill levels in the Ascension Parish and greater Baton Rouge area. The operating model is labor-intensive and instructor-led, with approximately 40+ faculty listed across disciplines and no proprietary technology stack beyond the third-party Jackrabbit Class registration and parent-portal platform (orgID 506029).
The revenue model is built on recurring monthly tuition from group classes and private lessons, supplemented by seasonal one-time revenue from summer programs (Kids on Broadway musical theatre camp for ages 5-14, themed summer camps such as K-Pop World Tour and Disney Magic, and $30 drop-in summer dance classes) and ticketed annual performances at local venues including BREC Independence Park Theatre and River Center Theatre. The academy operates the Stars Company, an award-winning competitive troupe (dance and musical theatre) that competes regionally and nationally and was named Access Broadway National Champions. Customer acquisition is community-led, driven by local word-of-mouth, school partnerships, alumni referrals, and reputation built over 25+ years of operation, including six consecutive Best of Ascension Community Choice Awards for Best Dance School and Best Summer Camps.
Center Stage functions as a stable, single-location lifestyle business with no external institutional capital, no M&A history, and no disclosed revenue. The business has demonstrated durable demand through consistent program expansion (annual summer musicals for 20+ years, recurring themed camps, the pre-professional Stars Company pipeline) and a measurable alumni track record placing students on Broadway (Wicked, Anastasia, The Little Mermaid), national tours, Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney World, and So You Think You Can Dance. There is no AI, software, or platform component to the business; value creation is concentrated in instructor quality, community reputation, and the depth of the training curriculum.
