Viljandi Rotary Klubi

What Viljandi Rotary Klubi does

Viljandi Rotary Klubi is a civic nonprofit Rotary club founded in 1993 in Viljandi, Estonia, operating as part of Rotary International District 1420. It is a member-driven service organization of approximately 35 members that meets weekly at Hotel Centrum (Tallinna tn 24, Viljandi). The club's mission is to serve the community above personal interests, implemented through civic projects rather than commercial products.

The club's project portfolio over three decades has focused on three pillars: historic landmark restoration (Viljandi Old Water Tower renovation completed in 2001, Viljandi Suspension Bridge reconstruction in 1995), youth and sports infrastructure (Estonia's largest pumptrack in 2019, Viljandi Rotary Discgolf Park in 2013 and Discgolf Park II in 2021, wrestling wall donation in 2021, rowing boats in 2024), and humanitarian aid (instrument donations to Viljandi Music School in 2006; 11,613 EUR to sister-city Rotary Club Ternopil City in Ukraine in 2022; four drones co-funded with Vestman Grupi for the Kaitseliidu Sakala Malev in 2024). The club is governed by a board led by President Remmel Tiit (2026/2027), with structured presidential succession through Vice President Tölpus Rain (President-Elect 2027/2028) and Past President Päärso Piia.

The organization's revenue model is donation-based: it receives member dues, individual contributions, and corporate sponsorships (notably Vestman Grupi) routed through a SEB bank account (EE141010302007129009), and is registered on Estonia's tax-benefit list. The Viljandi City Government is a recurring co-funding partner for large civic infrastructure projects. No commercial pricing model, headcount growth, or external investment applies; the entity is an autonomous Rotary club without subsidiary structure.
