The study also found that 81% of respondents received an eye exam in the past two years, though 37% of non-recent visitors cited cost as a barrier, while health plan executives identified transportation (88%) as the key obstacle to care access. Barriers to eye care access persist disproportionately for lower-income households, with only 68% of people in households under $35,000 having received an exam in the past two years compared to 81% overall.
