Game Room Guys

What Game Room Guys does

Game Room Guys is a privately held specialty retailer founded in 2001 and headquartered in Comstock Park, Michigan. The company sells new and recertified arcade machines, pinball machines, replacement parts, accessories, and game-room furniture, serving both home collectors building residential game rooms and small-to-mid commercial operators of arcades, bars, and entertainment venues. Its assortment is anchored by authorized-dealer relationships with the leading U.S. pinball manufacturers—Stern Pinball, American Pinball, and Chicago Gaming—plus Bandai Namco amusement products and Pyramid Technologies, with continuous new-release title rollouts (Transformers, John Wick, King Kong, X-Men, etc.) driving the premium end of the catalog.

The business model is direct-to-consumer e-commerce with nationwide shipping (free on machines), supplemented by an appointment-based physical showroom in Michigan and phone-based consultative sales. Pricing is unit-based: pinball machines retail in the roughly $3,999–$9,799 range, accessories and parts span $99–$1,499, and ancillary services include trade-in, warranty, and repair. Revenue is generated through machine sales, accessory and parts attach, refurbishment of classic games, and service work, with the highest-AOV segment (premium new pinball) and highest-volume segment (accessories/parts) on different demand cycles.

Leadership comprises Eric Wildey (CEO) and Doug Wildey (Founder & Chairman), a family-led management team. The company operates with 11–50 employees from a single Michigan location, positioning it as a focused niche retailer whose competitive position rests on authorized allocations, niche technical/repair expertise, and a nationwide shipping footprint rather than scale advantages.

Emerging players

• Arcade1Up: Mass-market consumer-brand producer of home arcade cabinets (including licensed Pac-Man and other Namco IP) — partial overlap with Game Room Guys' arcade product category, though Arcade1Up targets a much lower price point and broad consumer market.
• AtGames: Manufacturer of consumer-grade home arcade cabinets and 'Legends Pinball' devices — competes at the lower-priced end of Game Room Guys' pinball/arcade retail category and represents the kind of mass-market disruption that could shift home-entertainment gaming dollars.

Broad incumbents

• Chicago Gaming Company: Manufacturer of classic pinball remakes (Cactus Canyon, Medieval Madness, Pulp Fiction) and a Game Room Guys distribution partner; competes with Game Room Guys at the wholesale/end-buyer retail layer for premium collector machines.
• Stern Pinball: The dominant premium pinball manufacturer and Game Room Guys' largest supplier. Stern operates its own direct-to-consumer storefront, making it both a critical supply partner and a structural competitive threat if it expands direct fulfillment.
• American Pinball: Premium pinball manufacturer (Hot Wheels, Galactic Tank Force, Barry O's BBQ) with a direct sales channel; a core partner of Game Room Guys and a wholesale-channel competitor in the same category.

Direct peers

• Big Daddy Pinball: Online pinball retailer offering new and used pinball machines plus parts/accessories — closely comparable to Game Room Guys' core transactional retail model in the home pinball category.
• GameSales.com: Online retailer specializing in pinball and arcade machines (new and refurbished) targeting home collectors — directly comparable product mix, customer base, and e-commerce GTM to Game Room Guys.
• Pinside Marketplace: Largest pinball enthusiast community with an integrated peer-to-peer marketplace for new and used pinball machines — directly competes with Game Room Guys in pinball transactions and represents the most concentrated pool of pinball collectors in the US.
• Pinball Life: Online retailer specializing in pinball machines, parts, and accessories — directly overlapping Game Room Guys' core category of pinball machines and aftermarket parts, with a similar e-commerce-only / phone-support model targeting home collectors and operators.
• Home Leisure Direct: Specialty retailer of home game room equipment (pool tables, arcade machines, pinball, foosball, game room furniture) with both an online storefront and physical showrooms — a near-direct analog of Game Room Guys' multi-channel home game room positioning.
