City Glass Company

What City Glass Company does

City Glass Company is a family-owned glass and glazing contractor founded in 1950 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving the Pikes Peak Region with residential and commercial glass installation, repair, and replacement services. The company operates from a single showroom and headquarters at 414 West Colorado Avenue and runs a field operation supported by 20 service vehicles and 35+ employees. Its core offerings include windows and doors, custom shower enclosures (frameless, semi-frameless, sliding, and neo-angle), custom-cut mirrors, flat glass and plastics (shelving, tabletops, Plexiglass barriers), screens, and commercial glazing systems including storefronts and curtainwalls, with specialty expertise in high-altitude installation using breather tubes for pressure equalization. The technology stack is conventional trade glazing: insulated glass units (IGU), tempered and laminated safety glass, Low-E coatings (Low-E 272 with 8 layers and Low-E 366 with 12 layers), and emerging switchable Smart Glass products.

The business operates on a project-based revenue model with both residential and commercial streams, supplemented by a 24/7 emergency glass repair service. Pricing is quote-based, with complimentary estimates offered across all projects; no price tiers or rate cards are publicly disclosed. Customer segments are horizontal: residential homeowners, commercial business owners, property managers, and general contractors. Enterprise account work includes the In-N-Out Burger preferred-vendor designation for all Colorado franchise locations, healthcare facilities (Saint Francis Medical Center, Pinnacle Eye Center), education (La Veta High School), municipal (Pikes Peak Regional Building Department), and specialty wildlife (Cheyenne Mountain Zoo grizzly enclosure with SentryGlas panels). Distribution is direct: showroom, phone sales, on-site field service, and enterprise account management, with no third-party resellers.

In 2022, City Glass combined operations with Pikes Peak Glass, consolidating a decade-long collaboration into a single operation. The company is BBB A+ rated, Home Mag Certified, recognized as one of the Top 50 Glaziers in the United States by Glass Magazine, and operates a Glazier Apprenticeship Program featured in trade press. Ownership transitioned from the founding Davidson family (1950-2011) to the Bole family (2011-present), and the company has been a partner of the Colorado Springs St. Jude Dream Home campaign since 2019.
