Descriptiontext

Iris Care Group is a UK specialist care provider delivering an integrated care pathway for adults with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries, and special educational needs. The group operates through six core service lines: supported living, residential homes, three specialist hospitals in South Wales (Pinetree Court, St Peter's, Heatherwood Court), specialist nursing services (Pirton Grange), and special educational needs provision (Beechwood College). Services are delivered by in-house multidisciplinary teams covering psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and positive behavioural support, using proprietary care frameworks ("The Perfect Journey," RISE, Building Better Lives Recovery Model) and evidence-based approaches (DBT, MBT, TEACCH, sensory integration, Makaton, PECS).

The company operates a B2G revenue model, generating income through managed-service contracts commissioned by Local Authorities, NHS Integrated Care Boards, and Local Health Boards. Iris Care Group positions itself as a cost-effective step-down alternative to NHS hospital care — citing £1,400/week for community care versus £4,000/week for hospital care — and combines direct commissioning relationships with a social-worker and NHS referral pipeline supported by a 48-hour assessment commitment. Approximately 1,800 staff deliver services to more than 500 individuals across 63 specialist sites spanning South Wales, South West England, and parts of England.

Formed in 2022 through the rebranding of Ludlow Street Healthcare Ltd (established 2005) and Holmleigh Care Homes (founded 1999), Iris Care Group is privately held and backed by Ancala, an independent infrastructure fund manager that first invested in 2020. The group has pursued an aggressive acquisition-led growth strategy, completing acquisitions of Awelon Healthcare in January 2026 and Elysium Cymru Ltd in August 2026, expanding service capacity and geographic reach while developing tripartite supported-living partnerships with housing associations and home-care providers.
