What Aardvark Ant & Pest Control does

Aardvark Ant & Pest Control Inc is an owner-operated, private pest control corporation headquartered at 2514 Jamacha Road, El Cajon, California, serving residential and commercial customers across San Diego County including El Cajon, San Diego, Rancho Bernardo, La Mesa, Carlsbad, and Vista. The company delivers traditional extermination services for a broad pest spectrum — ants, spiders, earwigs, scorpions, centipedes, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, bed bugs, bees and wasps, rats and mice, gophers and voles, ground squirrels, reptiles (including rattlesnakes), and large animals — using products approved by the State of California. It also holds specialized licenses from the San Diego County Agriculture, Weights and Measures division (gopher and vole removal), the California Structural Pest Control Board, the Department of Pesticide Regulation, and a trapping license from the Department of Fish and Wildlife, and is contracted to service schools, city and county properties and parks.

The company operates on three revenue streams: recurring monthly or every-other-month maintenance services, one-time appointments, and Saturday emergency response. Distribution is exclusively direct-to-customer field service by licensed, bonded, and insured exterminators; no technology platform, app, API, or proprietary software is disclosed. Marketing relies on the company website, Angie's List listing, customer testimonials, and memberships in the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce and Pest Control Operators of California, supported by BBB Accredited Business status. Headcount is reported at 1–10 employees, no funding rounds have been raised, the company is bootstrapped with no institutional investors or parent entity, and revenue is not publicly disclosed. Founded year is not stated in available sources.

Broad incumbents

• Orkin: Owned by Rollins, Orkin is the largest pest control operator in North America, offering residential and commercial recurring and one-time services across the same general pest categories (ants, roaches, rodents, bed bugs, termites) that Aardvark serves. It represents the dominant competitive force in the San Diego market.
• Terminix: Terminix is a national residential and commercial pest control brand (now part of Rentokil Initial) offering recurring pest management plans and one-time treatments across the same species set as Aardvark. Active across California with far greater marketing reach and technician density.
• Ehrlich Pest Control: Ehrlich (part of Rentokil Initial) is a long-standing pest control operator providing residential and commercial recurring and one-time services for the same pest categories (ants, roaches, rodents, bed bugs, stinging insects) that Aardvark addresses, with national infrastructure and broader geographic reach.
• Western Exterminator: Western Exterminator (part of Rentokil Initial) provides residential and commercial pest control across the western U.S., with strong presence in California. Its general pest, rodent, and specialty services directly overlap with Aardvark's offering in San Diego County.
• Truly Nolen Pest & Termite Control: Truly Nolen is a national, family-rooted pest and termite control operator with a four-service recurring maintenance model (similar in concept to Aardvark's monthly/every-other-month programs) and full residential and commercial coverage, including in Southern California.

Regional players

• Massey Services: Massey Services is a regional pest, termite, and lawn care operator primarily serving the southeastern U.S., offering recurring maintenance programs comparable to Aardvark's. It is a useful comparison point for recurring-revenue pest control unit economics even though it does not directly compete in California.
