Darien Sportsplex

What Darien Sportsplex does

Darien Sportsplex is a multi-purpose community recreation facility operated by the Darien Park District, a local-government park district established in 1974 in Darien, Illinois, roughly 26 minutes from Chicago. The facility comprises three ice surfaces, a full-size indoor fieldhouse, meeting rooms, a pro shop, and a concession stand at 451 Plainfield Road, and is paired with a separate 3,900-square-foot Community & Fitness Center at 7301 Fairview Avenue.

Core offerings include organized youth and adult hockey programs (Little Hawks Hockey, Heritage Hockey League, Summer 3v3 League, RAT Hockey), soccer programs (Darien Soccer League, Super Rec Soccer, fieldhouse rentals), the Chicago Edge Skate School, freestyle ice time, public skate, senior walking times, day camp, First Step Preschool, and seasonal special events (Back to School BASH, Hoe-Down, Movies in the Park, Easter Egg Hunt). Supporting infrastructure includes the WebTrac online registration system, digital program guides, and on-site retail and concessions.

Darien Sportsplex generates revenue through program registration fees, facility rentals, and fitness memberships open to both residents and non-residents. It is funded primarily through property taxes as part of the Darien Park District's public budget and serves a distributed local customer base of families with children, active adults, and seniors. The General Manager is Jordan Rossi, and the organization is not privately owned or investor-backed.
