ČVUT Engineers Prague

What ČVUT Engineers Prague does

ČVUT Engineers Prague is a Prague-based university ice hockey team competing in the Czech University Ice Hockey League (Univerzitní hokejová liga / ULLH), a competitive amateur league for Czech university students. While nominally representing Czech Technical University (ČVUT), the roster draws players from multiple Czech higher education institutions including ČVUT, Czech University of Life Sciences (ČZU), Prague University of Economics and Business (VŠE), Charles University (UK), Police Academy of the Czech Republic (PA ČR), and others, spanning faculties such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Sciences, Transportation Sciences, and Biomedical Engineering.

The organization operates as a private, non-commercial sports entity rather than a technology or product company. Its core activities are competitive ice hockey operations, player development, and team management, supported by a structured coaching staff (head coach, two assistant coaches, two goalkeeping coaches) and administrative team including a club president, vice-president, general manager, sports manager, marketing manager, and ancillary roles. The team maintains active matchday operations documented in the 2024-2025 ULLH season, including games against United Hradec Králové, BO Ostrava Vítkovice Steel, and UK Praha.

The revenue model is sponsorship-driven, supplemented by ticket sales and merchandise. Corporate partnerships are structured in tiers, with SII serving as General Partner (Generální partner) and Metrostav as Main Partner (Hlavní partner), supported by approximately twelve additional partners including Tipsport, Kaufland, PRE, Bauer, Český hokej, and Praha 6 municipal district. Distribution is conducted through a self-serve online ticketing platform (engineersprague.enigoo.cz), a dedicated e-commerce merchandise store (engineers-shop.cz), and organic social media channels (Facebook, YouTube). A documented alumni pipeline into professional sports and sports marketing functions as a soft talent-development value proposition, though this is not a commercial product offering.
