Spirit Gymnastics Academy Plus

What Spirit Gymnastics Academy Plus does

Spirit Gymnastics Academy Plus is a privately held, single-location gymnastics and youth athletics facility based in Winter Haven, Florida, founded in 2011 by Teresa Proctor. The academy operates with approximately 9 employees and serves local youth athletes and families across central Florida. Its service portfolio covers recreational gymnastics, ninja, tumbling, cheer, and the HUGS special-needs program, alongside summer camps, birthday party bookings, and competition team training anchored by the in-house Spirit Classic event.

The business generates revenue through class tuition, summer camp fees, birthday party bookings priced in the low hundreds per event, and competition team fees. The HUGS special-needs program is offered to participants at no cost and is funded via a 501(c)(3) structure supported by corporate sponsorships rather than direct tuition, including sponsor commitments disclosed for 2025-2026. Spirit Classic draws participating teams from across Florida, extending the facility's visibility beyond the immediate Winter Haven trade area.

The operation remains a single-site, independently owned facility with no disclosed franchising, multi-location rollout, or enterprise contracting. Product line breadth has expanded incrementally through the introduction of Boys' 4X4 and Ninja programs, while institutional alignment with USA Gymnastics via the HUGS program supports program legitimacy in the special-needs segment.
