What Hero Plumbing does

Hero Plumbing, LLC is a privately-held plumbing services company founded on June 2, 2010 by Master Plumber Rashawn Spivey and headquartered at 4365 N 27 Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company provides plumbing repair, installation, and new construction services across residential, commercial, industrial, and government customer segments in the six-county Southeastern Wisconsin region (Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington, and Kenosha counties). Operations are delivered by a small team of approximately five employees via direct phone contact and a website inquiry form, with quote-based pricing tailored to project scope. Service lines include bathroom and kitchen remodels, drain cleaning, emergency plumbing, sewer repair with camera inspection, water heater and softener systems, medical gas installation, mechanical piping, process piping, and large-scale new construction plumbing.

The company has executed several material projects since inception, including the $3.38 million Westlawn Neighborhood Revitalization (256 townhome units plus 94 apartments), the $1.46 million Paperbox Lofts historic adaptive re-use conversion, the Bucks Arena Live Block site utility contract, and ongoing primary maintenance services for the City of Milwaukee Housing Authority since 2015. Between 2019 and 2023, the company performed water service installations and lead lateral replacements across more than 600 houses. Industrial work has included site preparation and emergency eye-wash station installation for WE Energies at the Elm Road Generating Station. The founder's profile was significantly elevated in 2023-2024 through a White House visit by President Biden, recognition as a Black-owned small business, an invitation to the 2024 State of the Union address, and prior coverage on the Building Wisconsin TV show.

Hero Plumbing operates as a bootstrapped, founder-led LLC with no disclosed external equity, debt financing, or institutional investors. Go-to-market is direct-to-consumer via phone (414-231-9562) and web form, supplemented by earned media coverage and an organic social presence on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Revenue is generated through project-based fees and service calls across residential, commercial, industrial, and government contracts, with pricing provided on a custom quote basis.

Broad incumbents

• Roto-Rooter: The largest U.S. plumbing and drain cleaning services company, offering residential, commercial, and emergency plumbing across the country. Comparable to Hero Plumbing in core service lines (drain cleaning, sewer, water heater, emergency plumbing), but operates at vastly greater national scale and with 24/7 dispatch.
• Mr. Rooter Plumbing: National plumbing franchise network providing residential and commercial plumbing, drain cleaning, and emergency services across the U.S. Overlaps directly with Hero's residential, commercial, and emergency plumbing offerings and competes in similar local-service territories.
• ARS Rescue Rooter: Large U.S. provider of plumbing, HVAC, and drain services serving residential and commercial customers under the Rescue Rooter brand. Competes directly in residential/commercial plumbing and emergency service categories, though with broader geographic and trade coverage than Hero.
• Benjamin Franklin Plumbing: National plumbing franchise offering residential and light commercial plumbing services with a strong emphasis on punctuality and on-time guarantees. Competes for the same residential and small commercial service-call volume that anchors Hero's Milwaukee-area book of business.

Direct peers

• Blau Plumbing: Family-owned Milwaukee-area plumbing contractor serving residential and commercial customers in Southeastern Wisconsin. Closely matches Hero Plumbing in geographic footprint, service mix, and small-business operating model, making it a directly comparable local peer.
• Vorpahl Plumbing: Milwaukee-based plumbing contractor providing residential and commercial plumbing services across the metro area. Directly comparable to Hero in scale, geography, and service offerings, and competes for the same local customer base.
