What Lunar Design, Inc. does
Lunar Design, Inc. is a privately held architectural design firm headquartered in Farmington Hills, Michigan, providing project-based professional design services to residential, commercial, and industrial clients in the Michigan region. The firm's portfolio of services includes new residential design, addition and modification design, design and construction documentation, industrial design fabrication drawings (with disclosed work for automobile manufacturing facilities), as-built survey and record drawings, interior design, and residential renovation work delivered through Square One Architecture.
The firm is built around founder Ian Monday, who holds an NAAB-accredited professional degree in architecture from Florida Atlantic University (in collaboration with the Dessau Institute in Germany and The Bauhaus) and brings prior designer and project manager experience from EDSA, Square One Architecture, AZD Associates, and J&R Design Systems. The company employs 12 people and runs a sales-led, founder-driven go-to-market motion in which Mr. Monday oversees design, project management, business development, and direct client engagement on a per-project basis.
Revenue is generated through one-time project fees rather than recurring contracts, and the firm markets primarily via its website (lunararch.com), direct outreach, and professional network referrals. No external institutional investors, parent companies, subsidiaries, funding rounds, or M&A activity are identified in the available data, and the entity appears wholly founder-controlled and independently operated.
