The Festive Frog L L C

What The Festive Frog L L C does

The Festive Frog L L C is a privately held tabletop rental company founded in 2011 and launched in 2012 by co-founders Jane McClenahan and Kendell Deboom, headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. The company rents curated collections of dinnerware, chargers, glass plates, flatware, stemmed goblets, coupes, barware, bar carts, cups and saucers, and decorative serving accessories to customers hosting weddings, special occasions, and corporate events. Its inventory blends contemporary designs, proprietary Festive Frog-designed collections, and vintage Depression-era pieces, supported by an online catalog and visual marketing through Instagram and earned media in publications such as Vogue, Martha Stewart Weddings, and The Knot.

The business operates a direct-to-customer rental model with per-piece pricing and a $1,000 local minimum order, generating revenue through rental fees, damage waivers, delivery and pickup charges, and ancillary services including customized sourcing ($65/hour search fee), long-term rental pricing, on-site staging, and portering. The primary service area is the Chicago metropolitan area, with destination events handled on a bespoke basis. Distribution is direct, with no third-party channels or reseller network, and customer acquisition relies on the website catalog, Instagram, press features, and word-of-mouth referrals from event planners and designers.

The company operates with a small team (1-10 employees per firmographics) and has remained privately held by its co-founders since inception with no institutional investors, parent company, or subsidiary relationships. There is no proprietary software or technology platform; the business is fundamentally a physical-asset rental operation whose competitive position rests on curated inventory quality, founder expertise in hospitality and styling, and editorial brand visibility in the wedding and lifestyle media.
