What SaunaCraft OÜ does
SaunaCraft OÜ is an Estonian private limited company registered under number 17060472, founded from a personal hobby in woodworking and sauna renovation and now operating as a professional craft business specializing in custom sauna design, construction, renovation, and maintenance. The company is headquartered in Southern Estonia, with primary service coverage across Tartu, Põlva, Võru, and Valga counties, and project availability across Estonia by agreement. Its core technology is handcrafted wooden sauna construction and custom joinery, leveraging traditional sauna-building craftsmanship combined with modern best practices, using carefully selected wood materials (alder, aspen, and thermowood variants such as termolepp, termohaab, and thermomagnolia) treated with sauna-specific wax and oil finishes. Notable technical differentiators include dust-free sanding during maintenance, eco-friendly material selection, and removable bench skirt designs for hygiene.
The company's product and service portfolio spans complete sauna room solutions (paneling, LED lighting, stove and door installation, ventilation, and bench systems), custom-built sauna benches, paneling installation, bench board renewal, and ongoing maintenance and restoration (oil/wax treatment, stone replacement, repair work). A standardized accessory line — including back supports, bench skirts, Peatugi COMFY headrests (from €25), Woodsy benches (from €35), and wooden ventilation plafons (from €25-€35) — is sold via the SaunaCraft website and the related mikudoworks.ee storefront.
Commercially, SaunaCraft operates a direct-to-consumer, project-based model with quote-driven pricing for construction and renovation services and unit pricing for accessories. Its customer base consists primarily of residential homeowners in Southern Estonia, with selected commercial projects in the HoReCa and recreation segment (e.g., Annimatsi Camping, Otepää Motoklubi). The go-to-market relies on content marketing through the SaunaBlog and a portfolio page, organic social media presence on Facebook and Instagram, and direct phone/email conversion. The business is founder-operated with no disclosed external investment, parent company, or institutional ownership.

SaunaCraft OÜ competitors and assessment
Company assessmentDirect peers
- Scandia Manufacturing (Scandia Sauna): US-based manufacturer and builder of custom prefabricated sauna rooms for residential and commercial customers. Comparable in providing turnkey sauna room solutions, though with a more standardized/prefab model versus SaunaCraft's bespoke joinery approach.
- EOS Saunatechnik: German sauna cabin and equipment manufacturer offering custom sauna rooms for private and commercial customers. Closely aligned with SaunaCraft in combining bespoke sauna construction with equipment supply, but at greater scale across Europe.
- KLAFS: German premium manufacturer of custom sauna cabins and spa solutions serving both residential and commercial/hospitality clients. Directly comparable to SaunaCraft in offering bespoke, high-craft sauna rooms rather than off-the-shelf kits, but at significantly larger scale across DACH.
- Almost Heaven Saunas: US-based custom sauna builder specializing in residential indoor and outdoor sauna rooms with handcrafted elements. Directly comparable to SaunaCraft in offering project-based custom sauna construction, though serving North American residential customers.
Broad incumbents
- Harvia: Publicly-listed Finnish global leader in sauna heaters and sauna room solutions. Already referenced in SaunaCraft's customer projects (Harvia Cozy installed at Annimatsi Camping). Comparable in that it sells sauna equipment and sauna room packages, but operates at vastly larger scale across 80+ countries.
- Helo: Finnish heritage sauna brand offering heaters, controls, and sauna rooms globally. Adjacent peer to SaunaCraft in the Nordic sauna category, with overlapping materials and heater knowledge (Helo/Harvia products commonly installed by SaunaCraft).
- Tylö (Tylö-Helo): Swedish sauna equipment and cabin brand, now part of the Tylö-Helo group alongside Finnish Helo. Comparable in offering sauna rooms, heaters, and accessories; competes with SaunaCraft at the broader consumer level but does not focus on bespoke regional craftsmanship.
Regional players
- Narvi: Finnish sauna stove and heater manufacturer with a strong presence in the Baltic and Nordic markets. Comparable as a regional sauna-category specialist, though focused on heaters rather than full room construction like SaunaCraft.
- Bastu.se (Swedish Sauna Society / Swedish sauna builders): Swedish sauna brand and builder community focused on bespoke sauna construction for residential and commercial buyers. Comparable to SaunaCraft in emphasizing craftsmanship and traditional sauna culture, but serving the Swedish market rather than Estonia.
Others
- Thermory: Estonian-based thermowood manufacturer and outdoor/indoor cladding supplier. Thermory is a likely upstream materials supplier for SaunaCraft's thermowood benches (thermolepp, thermohaab, thermomagnolia) and is thematically adjacent in the Estonian wood-craft ecosystem.
