Ratsaklubi Ruila Tall

What Ratsaklubi Ruila Tall does

Ratsaklubi Ruila Tall is an Estonian non-profit equestrian association (MTÜ) operating the country's largest dedicated show jumping facility, located in the historic Ruila manor complex in Ruila village, Kernu municipality, Harjumaa. Founded in 1995 as Ratsaklubi Kernu Ratsu and renamed following the 2007 merger with Kuldne Kabi, the club offers horse boarding across 60+ stalls in five stables and ten outdoor boxes, professional training under head coach Riina Pill (who also serves as the Estonian Equestrian Federation's show jumping manager), and hosts competitions ranging from local events to FEI World Cup qualifiers. The facility carries the highest 3-star certification from the Estonian Equestrian Federation and was first used for competitions in 1975.

The underlying "technology" is physical infrastructure rather than software: two sand-textile outdoor arenas, two indoor arenas (maneež), a gallop track on hayfield, a four-horse walker, 15 hectares of paddocks, and 15 Olaf Petersen competition obstacles rated up to 150cm in height. An on-site veterinary clinic (Ruila Kliinik) staffed by Dr. Andres Tuvi and Dr. Tiit Siiboja provides integrated animal healthcare, and recent capital improvements (roof 2020, obstacles 2022, facades 2023) have been financed through EU LEADER rural development grants channeled via Lääne-Harju Koostöökogu.

The business model combines subscription-style recurring revenue (horse boarding with three daily feedings and twice-daily bedding maintenance; training subscriptions) with transaction-based revenue (competition hosting, including Estonian Championships and FEI World Cup Central European League qualifiers) and ancillary service revenue (venue rental for meetings and seminars, overnight accommodation for eight guests, children's excursions). Pricing is quote-based and not publicly disclosed. The customer base comprises roughly 30 listed athletes across senior, junior, youth, and hobby categories, supplemented by visiting competitors for hosted events and non-riding event clients. The club is member-controlled with no venture, private equity, or public ownership.
