Inside Design Studio Inc

What Inside Design Studio Inc does

Inside Design Studio Inc is a Vancouver-based interior design firm founded in 1997 by award-winning designer Judy Henderson, operating as a boutique B2B professional services practice with a stated headcount of 1-10 employees. The company delivers full-service interior design across four core verticals: multi-family residential, hospitality, food & beverage, and commercial spaces. Its core methodology is a five-step process — Client Consultation, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documentation, and Construction Administration — executed with standard industry design tools rather than proprietary technology. The portfolio comprises more than 100 projects concentrated in Western Canada (British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario), with select international brand engagements.

The client base is enterprise-oriented, spanning major hotel operators (Marriott International with Westin Whistler Resort & Spa and Westin Whistler Lobby), global hospitality brands (Hard Rock International, Hilton), gaming operators (Great Canadian Gaming Corporation, with multiple restaurant and VIP gaming salon projects), real estate developers (North American Development Group for One Water Street, Kerkhoff Construction, Okabe North America for Coast Coal Harbour), indigenous communities (Gwa'sala-Nakwaxda'xw Nation for Kwa'lilas Hotel), and corporate clients (Scott Construction Group, FS Financial Strategies). Notable signature projects include the 104-room Azur Legacy Collection Hotel in Downtown Vancouver (a five-year build completed in 2023-2024 with the Dahlia lounge and Lavantine rooftop) and Canada's first Gordon Ramsay Steak Restaurant at Great Canadian Casino Vancouver.

Revenue is generated through project-based professional service fees for design consulting, schematic design, construction documentation, and construction administration, with pricing structured as custom quotes per engagement rather than published tiers. Go-to-market is primarily direct enterprise engagement supported by an extensive project portfolio, media coverage, industry awards, and repeat-client referrals; no public marketing channels or sales-driven outbound motion is indicated. The firm holds no disclosed funding, operates without institutional investors, and ownership is concentrated with the founding principal. Recent strategic momentum has been anchored by major hospitality completions and a string of 2017, 2024, and 2025 industry awards including IDIBC Awards of Merit, Luxury Lifestyle Awards Top 100 Luxury Interior Designers, and NEWH Vancouver Top Interior Designer.
