Lentiz MBO Westland

What Lentiz MBO Westland does

MBO Westland is a Dutch secondary vocational education (MBO) institution located in Naaldwijk, South Holland, that delivers horticulture-focused vocational training. It operates from within the World Horti Center, a co-located cluster that brings together education, research, government, and horticulture industry partners in the Westland region — the Netherlands' dominant greenhouse horticulture zone. The school is part of Lentiz onderwijsgroep, a non-profit group operating 14 schools across South Holland, which provides shared administrative, HR, and curriculum infrastructure.\n\nThe core product is accredited MBO diploma programs in horticulture and adjacent technical disciplines, delivered through classroom instruction, workshop practice, and industry placements with regional greenhouse employers. The school's "technology" is essentially its physical and institutional embedding inside the World Horti Center ecosystem and its dual-track pipeline into Westland employers; it does not operate a proprietary digital learning platform or software product.\n\nThe business model is publicly funded: tuition is regulated by the Dutch Ministry of Education (OCW) and revenue flows through the DUO funding system based on student enrollment and program accreditation. The school is governed by the Lentiz onderwijsgroep board, with no disclosed shareholders, equity investors, or commercial revenue streams beyond public funding and partner contributions. There is no disclosed pricing model for individual learners, no tuition variability, and no commercial product line.
