What Ccw Usa Firearms Training does

CCW USA Firearms Training is a privately held firearms training company headquartered in San Diego, California, founded and operated by William "Bill" Desy (CFE, California Licensed Private Investigator) since at least 2003. The firm delivers defensive firearms and concealed-carry instruction to civilians, security professionals, and law enforcement personnel, anchored by California CCW permit training (8-hour and 16-hour courses compliant with state mandates effective January 1, 2024), multi-state CCW permit courses for Arizona and Florida non-resident permits, and tiered Defensive Firearms levels 1.0/1.5/2.0. Specialized offerings include BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit training for security officers and executive protection agents, O.C. pepper spray certification, CAL DOJ Firearm Safety Certificate instructor training, Red Dot Pistol training, Low-Light Tactics, and Church Safety & Executive Protection training.

The technical and instructional infrastructure is centered on physical assets rather than software: private outdoor ranges in Escondido and Alpine equipped with steel reactive targets (not available at public indoor ranges), indoor classrooms in La Mesa and El Cajon, a partnership at The Gun Range San Diego in Kearny Mesa for indoor qualifications, and a custom "charging knife attack" simulator covering 21 feet in 1.5 seconds. Bill Desy holds 25+ instructor credentials including NRA Training Counselor, POST certification, NRA Law Enforcement Handgun/Shotgun Instructor, NLEFIA Advanced Instructor, BSIS State Certified Firearms/Baton Instructor, and Glock Armorer. The firm holds BSIS TFF 1226 certification and NRA Law Enforcement Affiliated Agency status. A blended eLearning platform (californiaonlineccw.com) plus integration with USCCA's online training portal extends delivery beyond the physical classroom.

Revenue is generated entirely through professional services fees: group classes at $249-$499 per student with 4-student minimums, private 1-on-1 instruction at $150/hour plus per-person fees, multi-state CCW classes at $249, BSIS exposed carry certification at $325, and premium packages (Ultimate 2-Day Elite at $3,000; Executive Private CCW at $1,400). Distribution is direct-to-consumer via the company website using Wufoo registration forms and Zelle/credit card pre-payment, supplemented by gun shows, the Gun Owners Symposium, Gun Owners Radio content partnership, Yelp/Google reviews, and newsletters. Geographic scope is regional (San Diego County) with permit-mediated reach into 33+ states via Arizona/Florida multi-state CCW credentials. The firm is founder-owned with no institutional investors and no disclosed financials.
