druck deine diplomarbeit

What druck deine diplomarbeit does

Druck deine Bachelorarbeit (legal operator: HIRSCH GmbH...Printmedien) is a German direct-to-consumer e-commerce service specializing in the printing and binding of academic theses, dissertations, and other scholarly papers for university submission. The company serves undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students at German, Austrian, and Swiss universities, offering eight binding variants (Hardcover Classic/Modern, Softcover Classic/Modern, Spiralbindung Hardcover Classic/Modern, Klebebindung, and metal Spiralbindung) organized into two design lines: "Classic" with exclusive preset materials and metallic print options, and "Modern" with fully customizable covers via downloadable Word, InDesign, Photoshop, and GIMP templates. Customers configure their order through a real-time online price calculator, upload print-ready PDFs, select from seven paper grades (80–135 g/m², including FSC and PEFC certified stocks), and receive finished books within 3–4 business days, with 24-hour express delivery available.

Production is fully in-house at the parent company's Bretten, Germany facility, which combines digital and offset printing presses with professional bookbinding under one roof — no third-party production is used. A rooftop photovoltaic installation (operational since 2012, ~90 kW peak) covers approximately 70% of the facility's annual electricity needs, and the company reports cumulative CO₂ savings of ~845 tonnes. Supplementary services include paper sample ordering, free video tutorials, and referrals to a network of 11+ partner providers for academic editing, proofreading, coaching, and English-language manuscript support (including studi-lektor.de, Enago, Mentorium, and others).

The business model is straightforward one-time transactional revenue: customers pay per binding (€7.90–€28.50+ per unit) via PayPal or bank transfer, with a €10 setup fee waived on orders ≥€75. Pricing varies by binding type, paper grade, page count, and delivery speed, with surcharge for express or non-A4 formats. The brand has accumulated 101,477+ printed and bound books and 2,904 verified customer reviews averaging 4.87/5. Sister brands "Druck deine Abizeitung" (school graduation newspapers) and "Deine Kartenwerkstatt" (invitation cards) extend the platform into adjacent consumer print verticals using the same production infrastructure. The operating company, HIRSCH GmbH...Printmedien, is a privately held German GmbH with Mario Hirsch as Managing Director; no external funding or institutional ownership has been disclosed.

Direct peers

• BachelorPrint: Online thesis and dissertation printing/binding service operating across Europe. Direct competitor with the same core offering (multiple binding types, cover design, express delivery) for university students.
• Binduna: German online service focused on printing and binding academic papers (bachelor/master theses, dissertations). Operates in the same niche with comparable binding options and student-targeted ordering flow.
• Drucken & Binden: Specialized German online print-and-bind service for academic works. Directly comparable business model: configurable binding types, online ordering, and student-focused delivery.

Broad incumbents

• Flyeralarm: One of the largest German online print shops, offering a broad portfolio (business cards to books). While not thesis-specialized, Flyeralarm has the scale and SEO presence to compete in the academic printing segment.
• CEWE: Established German printing group (photobooks, calendars, commercial print). Operates broadly in printing/binding; potential competitor for premium bound products and a possible acquirer of niche players.
• Onlineprinters (diedruckerei.de): Large European online commercial printer offering books, brochures, and binding. Provides book-printing capabilities overlapping with the company's thesis-printing service at potentially lower unit costs.
• Wir Machen Druck: German-Austrian online print shop with broad format coverage including books. Competes on price and range for any student/individual ordering bound printed work.
• print24: Online print service covering books, brochures, and binding products for business and individual customers. Overlaps in book printing/binding and competes for the same SEO keywords in Germany.

Emerging players

• Bookmundo: Online self-publishing and book printing platform that allows individuals to produce bound books in small runs. Comparable in that it offers accessible online book printing/binding for non-publishers.

Others

• studi-lektor.de: Long-standing partner academic editing and coaching service for German students. Currently a 'We to Them' channel partner; comparable as an ecosystem player providing the high-margin services layer around the thesis workflow.
