Descriptiontext

Healthier Capital is a healthcare-focused venture capital firm founded in late 2023 and headquartered in Menlo Park, California. The firm invests in technology-powered healthcare innovators with a thesis concentrated on AI-driven diagnostics, care delivery, and clinical workflow platforms. Its investment approach combines capital deployment with operator-led strategic support, drawing on the founding team's prior leadership roles at One Medical, Amazon, Optum/UnitedHealth Group, CVS Health, Stanford, UCLA, and UPMC. The firm is led by Amir Dan Rubin (former One Medical CEO who took the company public in 2020 and sold it to Amazon for $3.9B in 2023) and is supported by a six-person team including Partners Gregor Kevrekian, Eric Epstein, and Aman Mahajan, plus a dedicated Head of Network and Office Manager.

The firm's portfolio comprises approximately 14 healthcare technology companies, including conversational AI agents (Hyro), generative AI infrastructure for health systems (Qualified Health), prescription infrastructure (Photon), ambient clinical intelligence (Suki), AI-driven genomics (Diploid Genomics), multimodal clinical data analytics (Dandelion Health), AI-powered clinical research (Medeloop), radiology AI orchestration (Test Dynamics), cancer care coordination (Daymark Health), pediatric care delivery (Zarminali Pediatrics), and mental health platforms (Octave, Amae Health). Portfolio companies collectively serve more than 30 million patients and span over 500,000 healthcare professionals across systems including Mercy, Emory Healthcare, MD Anderson, NewYork-Presbyterian, Cedars-Sinai, and Stanford Health Care. Healthier Capital led rounds in Daymark, Hyro, Photon, Zarminali, Dandelion, and Diploid Genomics, and co-founded Diploid Genomics with J. Craig Venter.

Revenue is generated through traditional venture fund economics: management fees on committed capital and carried interest on successful exits. The firm's $220 million oversubscribed inaugural fund, closed in January 2026 against a $150 million target, was funded by universities, endowments, family offices, and healthcare organizations. The firm has made nine investments to date and recorded one exit (Ezra acquired by Function Health in May 2025). The go-to-market model centers on operator-led deal sourcing, ecosystem-mediated introductions to health systems and plans, and active portfolio support through a dedicated network function.
