What Lucaro.nl does

Praktijk LucaRo, trading as Lucaro.nl, is a sole-proprietor home-based alternative therapy and laser hair removal practice operated by Angelique Kruys from a single treatment room on the first floor of her residence at Biesbosstraat 64, Middelburg, in the Zeeland province of the Netherlands. The practice was formally launched in 2023 following Kruys's personal recovery journey, during which she obtained certifications in Reiki (1 through 3 Master/Teacher), Access Bars, and multiple massage modalities between September 2022 and June 2023. The business was legally registered with the KVK in the Netherlands and operates under VAT number NL004768014B68.

The service portfolio spans two distinct categories. The first is alternative energy and body therapies, including Reiki (including remote distance healing), NEI (Neuro Emotionele Integratie) with a Biosensor device, Access Bars, and several massage variants (relaxation, head, hand, foot, and children's massage). The second is permanent laser hair removal, which the practice explicitly positions outside the alternative-therapy scope. Pricing is unit-based per session (typically €29–€69), with multi-session packages (e.g., 3-session NEI at €185, 6-session laser packages at €130–€249) and a monthly subscription option at €49 per 60-minute treatment. Revenue is generated through direct-to-consumer, appointment-based delivery with cash or Tikkie payment; no insurance reimbursement, marketplace listing, or third-party distribution exists.

The customer base is composed entirely of individual consumers in the Netherlands — primarily adults and children seeking stress, anxiety, or pain relief, and a secondary segment of aspiring Reiki practitioners enrolling in certification courses (Reiki 1 through 3 Master, capped at 2 participants per cohort). Acquisition is informal, driven by word-of-mouth referrals, the practitioner's personal recovery story on the website, and direct WhatsApp outreach. The practice is registered with the CAT-Collectief under GAT-Wkkgz complaint and disciplinary frameworks (registration number 144462025-03-07), which is a baseline professional standard for alternative therapists in the Netherlands rather than a differentiator.

Direct peers

• Praktijk Puur voor jou: Local Middelburg/Zeeland-based Reiki practice run by Jolanda, explicitly cited in LucaRo's company history as the practitioner who introduced Angelique Kruys to Reiki. Operates the same energy-healing modality in the same geographic catchment.
• Holistik: Dutch-language holistic therapy brand offering alternative and energy-healing modalities (Reiki, Access Bars, massage) similar to LucaRo's stack, and competing for the same Dutch-speaking out-of-pocket wellness consumer.
• Christine Jasperse – Breidenbach (Kinesiologie): Kinesiologist referenced in LucaRo's founder journey as the practitioner whose treatment reduced the owner's anxiety. Operates in the same alternative-therapy category and Dutch market.

Others

• Wellness Academie: Dutch wellness training and certification provider. Comparable because LucaRo sells Reiki 1–3B certification courses as a second revenue stream, putting it in the same adjacent training/education category.

Broad incumbents

• Booksy: Booking platform for beauty, wellness, and health appointments. LucaRo already uses an online booking system; Booksy represents the broader category of platform-led client acquisition relevant to the practice's growth path.
• Treatwell: European wellness and beauty booking marketplace active in the Netherlands. Comparable as a channel where solo alternative-therapy and massage practices acquire clients and where LucaRo's services could be listed for distribution.

Regional players

• St-iek Fysiotherapie Middelburg: Holistic physiotherapy practice in Middelburg cited in LucaRo's company history. Offers complementary bodywork modalities in the same Zeeland region and shares an overlapping client base interested in alternative/integrative care.
