What RDM Next does
RDM Next BV is a privately held Dutch event venue and innovation workshop operator headquartered at the Innovation Dock in Rotterdam, a redeveloped former Holland America Line shipyard operated in partnership with the Port of Rotterdam Authority. The company rents four distinct event spaces — De Loft, De Loft XL (800 m²), De Commissariskamer, and Het Auditorium/Marble Hal — to corporate clients, government ministries, and educational institutions for conferences, meetings, and bespoke events. Beyond space rental, RDM Next delivers a portfolio of hands-on technology workshops covering AI/ML, IoT, cybersecurity, robotics, Design Thinking, Lean Startup, and Rube Goldberg challenges, plus full-service event orchestration including catering, photography, livestreaming/hybrid streaming, and event management.
The company operates a platform model that combines physical venue rental with content-driven workshops and adjacent services (CO2 compensation, food waste partnerships, sustainability add-ons). Revenue is generated through quote-based space rental, per-workshop service fees, event management engagements, and seasonal special events (Easter, Summer, Christmas, New Year). Sub-brands and hosted initiatives — RAMLAB (additive manufacturing), Captain AI (autonomous shipping), Dent IoT, MaX (digitalization education for VMBO students), IoT Academy, and Cyber Central — extend the offering into an innovation ecosystem supported by partnerships with Hogeschool Rotterdam, STC Group, and Techniek College Rotterdam. The company has 1-10 employees, no external funding disclosed, and no parent company.
