CD APAREJADORES RUGBY CLUB BURGOS

What CD APAREJADORES RUGBY CLUB BURGOS does

CD Aparejadores Rugby Club Burgos is a member-owned sports club (Club Deportivo) registered in the Registro de Entidades Deportivas de Castilla y León under CIF G09100439, headquartered in Burgos, Spain. The club's core offering is competitive rugby participation across a complete vertical pathway: a senior team competing in Spain's top-tier División de Honor under the sponsored name 'Recoletas Burgos Universidad de Burgos', a Sub-23 development squad in the Liga Nacional SUB23, and a youth academy (Cantera/Escuela) covering age categories from Sub-6 through Sub-18, plus Rugby Touch sessions for families and a multi-week Summer Camp program for children aged 6–14. The club monetizes through tiered season ticket subscriptions (Abonado Oro, Oro Fila 0, Verde, Simpatizante, Futuro), annual youth membership fees (€340–€420 per season with sibling discounts), matchday individual ticket sales at the Campo de Rugby San Amaro, and institutional sponsorship.

The business model is a hybrid of consumer subscription revenue (memberships and tickets) and institutional sponsorship. Primary commercial counterparties include Hospital Recoletas Salud Burgos (principal co-sponsor and medical services provider coordinated by Dr. Jacobo Salvat), Universidad de Burgos (academic partnership enabling student-athletes to combine studies with high-performance rugby), Junta de Castilla y León and Ayuntamiento de Burgos (regional and municipal government support), and Tierra de Sabor (regional food brand collaboration). The club also participates in the Castilla y León Iberians franchise alongside VRAC Quesos Entrepinares and SilverStorm El Salvador to compete in the Rugby Europe SuperCup, extending its competitive reach into European-level play.

Operationally, the club is governed by a board of directors under president Manuel Vadillo (who succeeded Iñaki Sicilia), with head coach José García and coaching staff member José Basso leading the División de Honor side. Day-to-day operations are lean, with six stated employees. Distribution is concentrated at the San Amaro stadium, supplemented by an official website (aparejadoresrugbyburgos.org), social media, email communications to subscribers, and YouTube-based match streaming. Marketing relies on local press coverage (Diario de Burgos, El Correo de Burgos, Revista Forofos) and community open days for player recruitment. The club is privately held, with no parent company, no subsidiaries, and no equity funding rounds evidenced.
