Clontarf Cricket Club

What Clontarf Cricket Club does

Clontarf Cricket Club is a community cricket club founded in 1876 and based at Castle Avenue in Clontarf, Dublin, Ireland. The club operates as a private, member-run sports organization under an elected executive committee, trustees, and honorary officers; reported paid headcount is 6, with the remainder of operations carried out by volunteers and team captains. Its core offering is structured cricket participation across all ages and skill levels: five Men's XIs (M1–M5) and three Women's XIs (W1–W3) competing in Leinster cricket divisions including the Premier League, plus a youth pathway from junior infants through U19 with age-specific training such as Friday Night Cricket sessions. Two overseas professional cricketers (Sam Morgan of Wellington Firebirds and Robyn Searle of Titans South Africa) are engaged annually for on-field performance and youth coaching.

The club's supporting infrastructure consists entirely of standard third-party cricket platforms — Cricketstatz for statistics, Cricclubs for live scoring, and Cricket Leinster for fixtures, results, and league tables — with no proprietary technology products. The clubhouse at Castle Avenue includes a marquee area used for events such as the 150th Anniversary Gala Ball (2026), which drew over 300 guests and was supported by event partners Teeling Whiskey, South William Clinic, and Banjoman.

The revenue model is characteristic of an Irish community sports club: membership subscriptions, local business sponsorship (a portfolio of 8+ named sponsors including Grimes, Nolans, Kinara, Michael Grant Motors, Allergy4All, Staffords, and Little Reds Sauces), facility and event hire, and ancillary income from commemorative merchandise. There is no disclosed revenue, no external investment, no parent company, and no public pricing for membership. Marketing and member engagement operate through the club website, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube (live streaming), Twitter/X, and a monthly newsletter. The geographic footprint is regional, restricted to Leinster, Ireland, with no global footprint claim.
