S4S PREPARACIÓN FÍSICA

What S4S PREPARACIÓN FÍSICA does

S4S Preparación Física is a Madrid-based physical preparation center specialized in conditioning candidates for the physical tests of Spanish civil-service examinations (oposiciones), principally police and firefighter selection processes. Founded in 2012 in Toronto as Sweat4Success, the company relocated to Spain in 2015 and opened its first Madrid center in Vallecas in 2016, subsequently consolidating operations at a 575m² purpose-built facility in Vicálvaro from January 2026.

The product portfolio spans five delivery formats operating on a shared methodology developed by CAFYD-qualified coaches: in-person group training at the Vicálvaro facility, an online academy with periodic live sessions, 1:1 personalized programming, self-guided programs sold at €38-€98 one-time, and video analysis services, alongside a secondary performance division for competitive athletes. The technology stack is built on the third-party TrainHeroic platform for training delivery, exercise prescription, and progress tracking, with Stripe handling payments, Mailchimp managing email, and Google Analytics covering web telemetry; there is no proprietary AI or ML layer disclosed.

The business model is a mix of monthly subscriptions for in-person and online training, one-time purchases for self-guided programs and video analysis, and bespoke 1:1 packages. The customer base is a long tail of individual civil-service candidates plus a smaller cohort of athletes, with 1,000+ candidates prepared since founding and a 247+ Google review footprint at a 5.0 average rating. The company is privately held and bootstrapped, with no external funding rounds disclosed, and operates with a team of roughly 14 employees under the leadership of coach Ana Calleja.

Broad incumbents

• Campus Training: Spanish vocational training group offering oposiciones preparation across multiple civil service bodies. A broad incumbent with national reach; primarily academic but provides a parallel pathway that competes for the same candidate pool as S4S.
• GO fit: Spanish low-cost gym chain with multiple centers and broad fitness programming. A broad incumbent in the Spanish fitness market that could theoretically add specialized oposiciones training to its offering, though it does not currently focus on this niche.
• MasterD: Large Spanish vocational and oposiciones training company offering academic and some physical preparation programs for civil service exams across Spain. Operates a much broader portfolio than S4S but overlaps directly in police/firefighter exam preparation through online and blended formats.
• Basic-Fit: Europe's largest low-cost gym operator with extensive Spanish footprint. Adjacent in providing fitness infrastructure to Spanish consumers; does not offer specialized civil service physical exam preparation but competes for the same discretionary fitness spending.
• Adams Formación: Heritage Spanish education provider with broad oposiciones programs. While traditionally academic, it is part of the same Spanish civil service exam preparation ecosystem and could plausibly expand into physical preparation as a vertical.
• Centro de Estudios Financieros (CEF): Established Spanish education group offering training programs including oposiciones preparation. A long-standing incumbent with national centers; competes for the same Spanish civil service candidate market through a broader, more academic curriculum.
• OpositaTest: Online oposiciones test preparation platform with strong SEO presence in Spain. While primarily focused on theoretical exam content, it competes for the same end-customer (civil service candidates) and could expand into physical preparation, representing an adjacent incumbent.

Others

• Trainingym: Spanish-origin SaaS platform providing digital training tools for gyms and fitness centers. Functions as an enabling/ecosystem technology peer — S4S uses TrainHeroic, but Trainingym represents an adjacent Spanish fitness-tech option that could be relevant for S4S's tech stack evolution.
