What Schoolhouse Construction Mgmt does

Schoolhouse Construction Inc. is a privately held, founder-owned residential design-build and remodeling company headquartered at 9 Idle Way, Harwich, Massachusetts, serving homeowners in the Cape Cod region. Founded in 1993 by Kevin Blute (CEO & President) and Lorraine Blute (Project Manager and Interior Designer), the company has operated continuously for over 30 years as a family-run firm with 1-10 employees. Its service portfolio spans kitchens, bathrooms, interiors, exteriors, tile work, custom cabinetry, decks, window replacements, roofing, siding, and major renovations, supplemented by interior design offerings including color consulting and accessory sourcing. The company manages projects end-to-end from initial consultation through completion, and on at least one major project it has collaborated with architect Paul Muldoon for design services.

The business model is project-based residential construction services, with revenue generated through individually quoted contracts rather than recurring fees or licensing. Customers engage the firm directly via phone (508.430.2128) or email, and projects are scoped, priced, and delivered on a one-time basis. The firm holds Massachusetts state contractor License #053147 and Home Improvement Contractor Registration #171444, is fully insured, and maintains active membership in the Home Builders & Remodelers Association of Cape Cod and the Harwich Chamber of Commerce. Marketing is conducted through a Squarespace-hosted website featuring portfolio galleries and customer testimonials; there is no paid digital advertising, no social media presence, and no app or software product.

The addressable market is geographically constrained to the Cape Cod region, with Harwich and Chatham explicitly named as core service areas and broader New England noted in operating-geography data. The customer base is entirely individual residential homeowners, including primary residences, vacation homes, and summer cottages. The firm relies on a preferred-vendor relationship with Cape Cod Tile Works (recommending Lane Meehan) and a collaborative relationship with Paul Muldoon for architectural design. There are no disclosed subsidiaries, no external investors, no M&A activity, and no expansion beyond Cape Cod.
