Descriptiontext

Avanta is a Spain-headquartered occupational health and safety (OHS) services group serving primarily small and medium-sized businesses across the Iberian Peninsula. Founded in 1999 in Quart de Poblet (Valencia) and operating as Avanta Salud Integral S.L., the group was formed through the consolidation of 18 separate companies and is currently a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital with MCH Private Equity as a co-investor. Its service portfolio spans three integrated divisions: Avanta Prevención (mandated occupational risk prevention, health surveillance, training, consulting, and in-house clinical laboratory), Avanta Medical (in-company medical services, physiotherapy, traumatology, nutrition, absenteeism management, and corporate physical activity), and Avanta Mynd (mental health, including psychology, psychiatry, employee assistance programs, and executive coaching). Following the definitive agreement to acquire Vitaly Group signed in May 2026, the combined entity will operate approximately 505 centers, employ roughly 5,500 people, and serve more than 240,000 corporate clients covering around 4 million protected employees across Spain and Portugal.

The business model is professional services-based and B2B: revenue is generated through contracted occupational risk prevention mandates and add-on corporate wellness programs delivered via direct enterprise sales and a network of owned physical centers, supplemented by on-site ("in-company") delivery. Pricing is quote-based and not publicly disclosed, with switching friction built in by Spain's regulatory framework that requires each employer to designate a single Servicio de Prevención Ajeno. Go-to-market relies on direct field sales to corporate HR and risk managers, complemented by web-led content marketing, a national center locator, and an active employee referral hiring program across all Spanish provinces.

Core technology is service-delivery rather than software-native: Avanta discloses no proprietary platform, API, or app; its competitive position rests on physical distribution (250+ centers pre-merger, 505 post-merger), clinical credentials, in-house laboratory capacity, and accumulated multi-brand reputation. AI capability is not currently in-house and is being acquired indirectly through the Vitaly Group deal, which is positioned as a differentiator and integration enabler for the combined platform. Ownership remains private under H.I.G. Capital with founder Josep Pla and Vitaly co-founders Jesús Nieto and Andrés López reinvesting alongside the sponsors in the merged entity.
