Novato Gymnastics

What Novato Gymnastics does

Novato Gymnastics is a municipal recreation program and facility owned and operated by the City of Novato Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department, located at 950 Seventh Street in Novato, California. It delivers in-person gymnastics instruction to children spanning four distinct program lines: Preschool Classes for ages 12 months to 4 years focused on early physical development and school readiness, Recreational Classes for ages 5 to 15 plus providing foundational fitness and skill development, a Competitive Team for advanced female gymnasts operating under the USA Gymnastics Development Program, and Seasonal Camps offered during school breaks. The program is staffed by 12 employees and emphasizes small class sizes, structured progression, and a positive learning environment led by experienced instructors.

The business model is a publicly funded municipal recreation service. Revenue is generated primarily through class registration fees collected via the Active Networks self-serve online registration portal (novatofun), supplemented by seasonal camp fees and store/apparel sales, with the balance supported by the City of Novato's general fund. Marketing is conducted almost entirely through organic channels, principally an Instagram account (@novatofun) and the program's website. The entity holds no patents, has no disclosed external investors or funding rounds, and operates as a single-site program with no geographic expansion beyond the Novato, California catchment. It maintains two sector-specific affiliations: USA Gymnastics for competitive team certification and the U.S. Center for SafeSport for athlete safety compliance. As a government entity, Novato Gymnastics has no traditional parent company, no subsidiaries, and no equity instruments; it is governed and funded as part of the City of Novato's municipal structure.
