Progressive Education

What Progressive Education does

Progressive Education is a privately held educational tutoring and consultancy practice built around the credentials of a Singapore-trained educator. The business offers one-on-one and small-group tutoring in Singapore Mathematics, Science, Mandarin/Cantonese, and wind/brass instrumental music, with a particular focus on PSLE preparation. Services are delivered across multiple physical locations in Metro Manila (Dasma Village Makati, Galeria de Magallanes, Little Baguio San Juan, Madison Square, and BGC) and through workshop and consultancy arrangements with schools and learning centres including Singapore Maths Centre, Maths@US, ICBB, Kumon, Enopi, Ahead, and Tutoring Club. The operating model is a horizontal professional services practice catering to individual students, schools, and learning centres.

The business generates revenue through five service streams, all professional-services in nature: (1) per-session and package-based tutoring in Singapore Maths, Science, and Mandarin; (2) workshop and seminar delivery to schools and centres; (3) feasibility studies and curriculum-implementation consultancy; (4) Mandarin-English translation and interpretation specializing in scientific, mathematical, and chemical terminology (serving clients including Accenture/Nokia Siemens, Mariwasa, Yamaha Motor, First Sumiden Circuit, and Sundance Communication Networks); and (5) wind and brass instrument lessons. Pricing is not publicly disclosed; the website shows placeholder 'Price $x.xx' entries. Distribution is direct-to-consumer and direct-to-institution, with no app, no e-commerce, no API, and no digital platform; the website is a free Yola-hosted static site.

The firm is described as having 46 employees and was founded in 2007, though the lead educator's teaching career dates to 1994 at Catholic High School Singapore. The founder relocated to Holmes Academy in Qingdao, China in 2016, creating a geographic split between the Philippines-centred tutoring network and the founder's current base. There is no evidence of external funding, M&A activity, awards, regulatory actions, or leadership changes; the entity operates as a sole-practitioner-led professional services business.
