PurrFormance Diesel, Inc

What PurrFormance Diesel, Inc does

PurrFormance Diesel, Inc. is a privately-held diesel fuel injection specialist founded in 1991 and headquartered at 16901 McVay Road, Fredericktown, Ohio. The company remanufactures injection pumps, fuel injectors, and turbochargers for most diesel engine manufacturers, and operates a 6-bay drive-in service shop providing diagnostics, repairs, and installation. It is an authorized independent dealer for major OEMs including Cummins, Caterpillar, Perkins, Isuzu, and Bosch, alongside specialty brands such as Reviva Engines, Fleece Performance, FASS Fuel Systems, Full Tilt Performance, Grizzly Tough, IPD, and Holset. Its customer base spans heavy-duty trucking, medium- and light-duty diesel vehicles, agriculture, construction, and marine applications, primarily across Ohio and surrounding states.

Technically, the company differentiates via in-house remanufacturing with calibrated test equipment, 100% dyno testing of complete drop-in engines with computer-controlled warm-up cycles, throttle simulations, and leak detection, plus access to Caterpillar's Service Information System (SIS) for accurate parts lookup from 1977 to current. It also distributes fuel additives (E-Zoil, Hot Shot's Secret), engine overhaul kits (MaxiForce), and remanufactured Reviva engines with warranty coverage.

Revenue is generated through three streams: diesel parts sales, remanufactured components with core exchange programs, and in-shop service and repair. Go-to-market is primarily direct via phone, walk-in, and website quote requests, with a secondary eBay storefront (PurrFormance Diesel Surplus) for surplus inventory. Pricing is unit-based with quote-on-request as the default; example parts range from $268 for fuel injectors to over $3,500 for exhaust manifolds, with core charges on remanufactured items. The company employs approximately 10 people and is currently hiring a Fuel Shop Technician, operates a monthly 'Diesel Monthly' newsletter, and maintains membership in the Association of Diesel Specialists (ADS).
