What Ferrum Fabrica OÜ does
Ferrum Fabrica OÜ is an Estonian private limited company (OÜ) founded in 2013 by five master smiths in Saue, near Tallinn, that produces custom hand-forged metalwork, sells small-batch artisan products through its own e-commerce storefront (sepikoda.eu), and restores historical ironwork on protected heritage sites. The company's core technology is traditional blacksmithing and hot-forging by master craftsmen using hand tools, with artistic inspiration drawn from Veljo Tormise's Kalevala-inspired iron-melting rituals; lead smith Tauro Pungas holds formal blacksmithing education from the Estonian Academy of Arts and has over 25 years of experience. The product portfolio spans more than ten categories, including custom architectural commissions (stair railings, gates, fences, canopies, fireplace surrounds), functional items (fireplace tools, hooks, door/window hardware, kitchen items, candle holders, wine accessories, grills, house numbers), and gift/souvenir items (Viking swords, bells, roses) priced from €3 to several hundred euros.
The business operates across three revenue streams: direct-to-consumer e-commerce sales of pre-made items (one-time purchase, free shipping over €61 within Estonia), bespoke custom commissions for residential and architectural projects (quote-based, premium pricing), and regulated heritage restoration services under Estonian National Heritage Board (Muinsuskaitseamet) activity license EMU000216. Go-to-market combines an owned e-commerce storefront processed via Maksekeskus AS, a wholesale channel through 15+ physical retailers across nine Estonian cities (Tallinn, Tartu, Pärnu, Rakvere, Kuressaare, Valga, Võru, Võhma, Jõhvi) and two e-commerce resellers (ON24, Mööbel Servamata Lauast), and direct sales-led engagement for custom commissions and heritage work. The company serves three customer segments: residential homeowners seeking unique decorative and architectural metalwork, heritage property owners requiring licensed craftsmen for protected monuments, and retail resellers stocking differentiated artisan products. Notable institutional clients include the Estonian President's Palace, Eesti Pank (Bank of Estonia), Jõmaja Church, and Tallinn Old Town heritage railings.
