Letko OÜ

What Letko OÜ does

Letko OÜ is a privately held Estonian limited company (OÜ) operating from Anne 79, Tartu, that delivers plumbing, heating, and sanitary installation and maintenance services to residential, commercial, and apartment association clients in Tartu and Tartu County. The company was established in 2018 (per first-party firmographics separately cite 2022) and serves all neighborhoods of Tartu city — Annelinn, Kesklinn, Veeriku, Ihaste, Tammelinn, Ränilinn, Ülejõe, Raadi, Tähtvere, Supilinn, and Ropka — as well as wider Tartu County municipalities including Elva, Puhja, and Alatskivi. The service mix covers emergency pipe assistance, drain and sewer blockage clearance, water and heating system installation (faucets, water heaters, sinks, bathtubs, water meters, pipe construction, leak detection, washing machines, dishwashers, ball valves, radiators, towel warmers, expansion tanks), sewage system installation and renovation, and apartment-association-specific services such as riser pipe replacement, in-building pipe construction, pipe insulation, water meter installation with sealing and certification, and remote-read meter installation.

The company operates with no proprietary technology platform; service delivery relies on standard plumbing and sanitary engineering equipment, and customer engagement is conducted via phone (+372 5888 3155) and a website inquiry form. The website is multilingual, supporting Estonian and Russian to address both domestic and Russian-speaking populations in the region. The business model is straightforward professional services: hourly-rate labor plus materials, with pricing published at €35/hour for general pipe work during weekday daytime hours (€40/hour after 18:00 and on weekends) and €55–65/hour for drain clearance depending on time of day and day of week. A minimum one-hour charge applies to every service, and a €0.50/km transport fee is added for locations more than 5 km from Tartu. Larger projects are priced by agreement. Customers consist of private individuals (the primary segment), business clients, and apartment associations (korteriühistud), with no online booking, no e-commerce, and no disclosed headcount, revenue, or external ownership.

Broad incumbents

• Benjamin Franklin Plumbing: National plumbing franchise with transparent hourly pricing, emergency response, and broad residential service offerings. Closely comparable to Letko's transparent per-hour pricing model and residential focus, although at significantly larger scale.
• Roto-Rooter: Large North American plumbing and drain-cleaning franchise network offering emergency pipe repair, sewer/drain clearing, and water-damage services. Operates the same core service categories as Letko (emergency plumbing + drain clearance) but at franchise scale across many markets, making it a relevant structural benchmark even though it does not serve Estonia.
• Mr. Rooter Plumbing: International plumbing franchise offering residential and commercial plumbing services, drain cleaning, and emergency repairs — directly overlapping Letko's service mix of pipe work, drain clearance, and emergency response, though operating primarily in North America.
• HomeServe: UK-headquartered home services and emergency-repair provider offering plumbing, drainage, and heating cover to households via subscription and on-demand models. Comparable to Letko in service categories (plumbing, drain, heating) but operates a fundamentally different subscription-enabled business model at national scale.

Regional players

• Röhren- und Kanalreinigung (RKR): European regional drain and sewer cleaning service providers (German-language market) that operate the same drain-clearance / emergency call-out model as Letko's core Toruabi service, but serve Central European geographies rather than Estonia.

Emerging players

• Fantastic Services: London-based on-demand home services platform offering plumbing, drainage, and maintenance across multiple categories with online booking and dispatch infrastructure. Comparable to Letko on service mix but represents a digital-first model that illustrates where traditional local plumbing businesses could evolve.
