What YIKES does
YIKES, Inc. is a Philadelphia-based professional services firm founded in 1996 that designs and develops custom WordPress websites for enterprise businesses and nonprofit organizations. Since 2010, the company has focused exclusively on enterprise WordPress work, delivering custom responsive designs, custom Gutenberg blocks, API integrations, robust CMS implementations, WCAG accessibility compliance, and content migration from legacy systems. Its core product is a single unified service portfolio of WordPress design and development engagements rather than a packaged software product; revenue is generated through project-based professional services contracts, often multi-year, with no publicly disclosed pricing tiers.
The firm sells directly through consultative, field-style engagements with enterprise, nonprofit, and government clients, and relies on a strong portfolio of named customers (including Penske Media Corporation, Golf Channel, Milestone Partners, City of Philadelphia Office of the Controller, and multiple nonprofits) for demand generation, supplemented by website, blog, and social media presence. YIKES is a certified B Corporation, aligning its brand with values-driven buyers. In September 2024, YIKES was acquired by karmadharma, a Canadian B Corp certified agency, and now operates under the karmadharma US banner while retaining the YIKES brand; ownership rests with karmadharma as the strategic parent, with no venture or private equity investment disclosed.
