What J. CALDWELL CUSTOM POOLS, INC. does
J. Caldwell Custom Pools, Inc. is a Fort Worth, Texas-based custom swimming pool builder founded in 2007 by John Caldwell and Taylor Christopher. The company designs, constructs, remodels, and maintains in-ground gunite/shotcrete pools for residential homeowners across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and a broader service area covering 35+ Texas cities (including Lubbock, Abilene, Graham, and Possum Kingdom Lake). Core offerings include new pool construction (across elite/premium, straight-line, freeform, and geometric design styles), pool remodeling, integrated outdoor living features (outdoor kitchens, cabanas, fire features, spas, fountains, landscaping), and a recurring weekly pool service and maintenance subscription.
The business operates a sales-led, project-based go-to-market: dedicated design and sales consultants conduct on-site property consultations and follow-up in-office design sessions to develop custom pool designs, with pricing determined per project rather than through published tiers. Construction is delivered using a standardized Jandy equipment ecosystem (Versa Plumb hydraulics, ePump variable-speed pumps, JXi heaters, CV cartridge filters, WaterColors LED lighting, Polaris cleaners, and iAquaLink automation) and material partnerships with suppliers such as Noble Tile and Wet Edge. A builder-partner channel (including Our Country Homes, Anderson Fine Homes, M&S Paris Construction, Luke Nelson, and M Builder) supplies additional new-construction project pipeline.
The company is privately held and founder-owned, with no external funding rounds disclosed, 12 employees, and a second sales office in Hudson Oaks, TX. Revenue is generated primarily through one-time construction and remodeling contracts, with a small recurring layer from weekly maintenance subscriptions; total revenue is not publicly disclosed. The firm has accumulated multiple industry recognitions including Fluidra Pool of the Year (2022) and International Awards of 2024, and tracks 715+ project pins and 109+ customer reviews on its website as proof points of operating history and customer satisfaction.
