What CasinoNieuws.nl does
CasinoNieuws.nl is an independent Dutch-language online news portal that covers the Netherlands' gambling and casino industry, including land-based casinos, online casinos, sports betting, poker, bingo, lotteries, and regulatory developments. The site serves Dutch consumers (24+) seeking objective, regulation-aware information about legal gambling options, and serves as an information intermediary addressing the information asymmetry between licensed Kansspelautoriteit (Ksa) operators and end users. Editorial reach extends to B2B stakeholders, with editor-in-chief Frank Op de Woerd serving as panelist and moderator at Gaming in Holland industry conferences and the site being cited by mainstream national outlets (NOS, NRC, de Telegraaf, RTL Nieuws, de Volkskrant) as well as international trade press (BBC, SBC, iGB, Next.io).
The platform is built on a standard WordPress CMS stack with CloudFlare CDN, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Complianz cookie-consent tooling, and operates a portfolio of integrated modules: a daily news site, an ongoing podcast (ep. 141+), structured online-casino and bookmaker reviews, a sports odds comparison tool (Oddsvergelijker), dedicated poker and bingo verticals, a casino terminology dictionary (Woordenboek), a gambling-industry job bank (Vacaturebank), and a ReviewScore scoring system. Content is distributed directly via the website and across roughly a dozen social, podcast, newsletter, and community channels (Substack, Patreon, WhatsApp channel, BlueSky, etc.).
The business model is a content-led affiliate and advertising play. The site is free to consumers and generates revenue from (i) affiliate commissions paid by Ksa-licensed online casinos and sportsbooks when users sign up via tracked links, and (ii) display advertising and newsletter advertising sold to licensed operators and other advertisers. The company is privately held and operated through JAF Media B.V. (KvK 82182140), is independent of operator ownership, holds KVA (Keurmerk Verantwoorde Affiliates) certification since inception in 2021, is GDPR/AVG compliant, is a registered Benelux trademark (BOIP 1546789), and operates a CO2-neutral website via the co2neutralwebsite.com consortium.
