What WPKraken does

WPKraken (legal entity: WPKraken Sp. z o.o.) is a privately held WordPress web design and development agency founded in 2012 and headquartered in Katowice, Poland. The company delivers custom WordPress website builds, WooCommerce e-commerce stores, and bespoke plugin development using a proprietary development framework called Kraken Forge. All work is performed by an in-house team ("Kraken Squad") that includes WordPress core contributors, and the company explicitly does not outsource to freelancers or contractors. Beyond build services, WPKraken sells a productized recurring maintenance subscription branded Kraken C.A.R.E, available in three tiers (Watchman for monitoring, Guardian for monitoring plus security and performance, and Sentinel adding unlimited website edits with a 72-hour turnaround), with white-label and WooCommerce-specific variants. The company also offers Team Extension staff augmentation, website audits (security, performance, SEO), emergency website rescue, and flexible hourly packages in one-off and monthly subscription formats.

The business model mixes professional services, recurring subscriptions, and affiliate-driven SMB volume. Development projects are priced $3,000 to $20,000+ depending on complexity, hourly packages start at a 10-hour minimum, and Kraken C.A.R.E subscriptions are billed monthly. Distribution is hybrid: a self-serve client portal (dashboard.wpkraken.io) serves SMBs, while enterprise field sales targets global brands including Twitch, Toyota, Volvo, Bryntum, and Action Trackchair. A formal affiliate program with 35+ WordPress theme and plugin partners (e.g., WPBakery, Muffin Group, GoodLayers, 8Theme, Laborator, GT3 Themes) pays 15% commissions and routes buyer traffic at the top of funnel.

WPKraken reports 60,000+ cumulative clients worldwide, a 4.9/5 rating across 1,500+ reviews, and claims over 60% of customers order more than one service. The company is bootstrapped, with no disclosed venture or private equity funding, no acquisitions, and no public financial reporting. Its intellectual property footprint consists of ten registered brand identities (Kraken Forge, Kraken C.A.R.E, Kraken Squad, plus the Watchman/Guardian/Sentinel/Examine/Cover/Refine/Assist sub-brands).
