What Sixth City Distribution does
Sixth City Distribution is a craft beverage wholesale distributor operating exclusively within the state of Ohio. The company sells only to liquor permit holders—licensed retailers such as bars, restaurants, and bottle shops—operating a direct B2B distribution model rather than selling to end consumers. Its stated positioning is highly selective: the company explicitly states it does not aim to move the most volume, but to represent "the best" craft beverage brands to Ohio accounts.
The core service offering is brand representation and physical distribution of a curated portfolio of supplier partners. The portfolio comprises over 90 brands spanning craft beer (the dominant category), Belgian lambics and specialty ales, cider, kombucha, mead, hard seltzer, non-alcoholic and spirit-free craft beverages, hemp-based spirits, and cannabis-infused beverages. The portfolio includes a mix of well-known U.S. craft breweries, regional Ohio-based producers such as Great Lakes Brewing Company and Collision Bend Brewery, and internationally recognized specialty producers including Cantillon, 3 Fonteinen, and Brasserie de la Senne. The company has no disclosed technology platform, no proprietary software product, and no app; its operations are presented through a static website (sixthcitydist.com) and direct contact via email and phone.
Sixth City Distribution generates revenue through transaction-based wholesale fees on the sale of distributed beverages. It does not disclose pricing, contract structures, or margins. The business is privately held as an Ohio LLC with no parent company, no institutional funding, no disclosed headcount, and no management team information. Its geographic restriction—selling only to liquor permit holders in Ohio—represents both its legal/commercial focus and a structural ceiling on its addressable market absent geographic expansion or regulatory change.
